Nadia Al Najjar

Nadia Al Najjar is an Emirati author from Dubai. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences from the University of Ajman of Science and Technology. She has written numerous novels and short story collections for adults, and several picture books for children. Nadia is Also a member of UAEBBYs Advisory Board. Her short novel "Cities of Yearning" won the first place in the Emirates Award for Fiction in the Short Fiction category in 2015, whereas her novel "The D Trilogy" won the award for Best Emirati Creative Writer at the Sharjah International Book Fair in 2017. In 2017, Al Najjar's book "My Wondrous Picnic with My Uncle Salem" was shortlisted for the Children's Literature of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, and won Dr. Abdulaziz Mansour Award. In 2020, her book “Voices of the World” which won Al Owais Award in the Children’s Literature category, was in the IBBY honor list. Her picture book, "The Spotted Leopard", was chosen to be included within the Arabic curriculum for Grade 4 in the UAE Arabic Ministry books. She has participated in many literary events and International Book Fairs around the world, and has offered workshops in creative writing.
