Creating Comics (2/2 Days)

My First Comic Story: In this two-hour workshop, students will create their own comic story with cartoonist Matt Smith. Participants will create their own characters, learn how to show sound and indicate movement, as well as understand the various definitions of the graphic novel and of comics.
Learning outcomes:
- Students will learn the basic building blocks of making comics
- Students will have the tools to create their own comic stories.
- Participants will learn to express themselves, combining words with pictures.
- Students will gain a deeper appreciation for a new art medium.
- Students will learn the language of comics.
