Beyond Here be Dragons: Rewilding the Imagination

To create the truly new, we must discover ways to break past the boundaries that handcuff our thinking, and the fear of failure that can hold back experimentation beyond the known. Our next era demands a rewilding of our collective imagination — a refusal to accept the given reality of old habits, products, services and systems. It is all too easy to forget that all that exists was once designed — and could have been designed differently. And they still can be. Design invites us to escape the gravity of the present in pursuit of the possible. Together we will explore three design “Enchantment” methods to help us all experiment with more bravery, celebrate failure as learning, and create compelling new concepts and visions that go beyond the edges of old maps.
