Nojoud Alsudairi is an artist and architect based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Her research-driven practice focuses on the personal and collective identity rooted in contemporary Saudi urban culture. Having a degree in architecture and situated practice from the Bartlett school at UCL, her work ranges from woven sculptures to multimedia installations. She is the co-founder of Syn Architects, an interdisciplinary practice that focuses on ecologically sensitive design and restoration that derives its aesthetics from a contextual awareness of nature, expressing the essence of the materials from which the aesthetics are derived. She also co-founded the Um Slaim Collective and SaudiArchitecture.org, both research and archive collectives that look into Saudi Arabia's vernacular, modernist and contemporary architectural and urban projects.
