Blending the region’s heritage of palm frond weaving with the principles of Islamic geometry, this two-day workshop invites participants to create an interactive geometric structure inspired by traditional craftsmanship. The structure, with its many facets reflecting cultural heritage, will serve as an installation that interacts with Ithra’s visitors.

Throughout the workshop, participants will learn the principles of Islamic geometry and how to link it to how palm tree parts can be transformed into a contemporary artistic practice that fosters collaboration and new ways of interacting with the environment.

The installation that will be built collectively will transform Ithra’s public spaces into a living dialogue between tradition and innovation.
