Designing monuments requires a balanced approach that combines simplicity and clarity, and gives a form for abstract concepts, along with the ability to capture attention and create a lasting visual and cultural impact. Building on this concept, this year Tanween welcomes Mohammed Al-Ghanimi, representing Mujasam Watan initiative, the competition led by Al-Fozan Group that empowers designers and artists from around the world to reimagine monuments inspired from Saudi heritage for public spaces through creative works that become landmarks.

Through a conversation with several winners, the session will explore the key elements of designing monuments and public artworks, highlighting the process of visualising stories, abstract heritage and local culture that is created to inspire the community.
