Program Overview

Tanween, the Center’s most impactful annual event dedicated to design, spotlights Ithra as a global design platform by bringing together diverse design voices from all over the world. In its 8th edition, Tanween seeks to explore the concept “Design the Unspoken”.

Design has always been a tool that provides solutions to users' needs. Still, it doesn't stop at fulfilling what is expressed—it extends to reach what’s usually unspoken.

Through its roster of programs, Tanween aims to open new horizons to untapped opportunities and ask: How can design meet needs before they are expressed? Not every user can articulate their needs, and not every need is easily defined. As Steve Jobs once said, "People don’t know what they want until you show it to them.”
This is where the role of the designer comes in—not just as a translator of ideas but rather as a conscious observer and curious explorer who immerses themselves in the user's experience, asks the right questions, and uncovers hidden opportunities.

Tanween is back from November 17 – 22, 2025!
