Noura Shuqair is an assistant professor at King Saud University in Saudi Arabia in the art education department. As an artist and researcher, Shuqair is interested in arts-based research, museum education and visual culture in Saudi Arabia, as well as critical theory. She has exhibited her artwork in Saudi Arabia and the United States and has won art prizes. In conferences, she has presented papers about art and museums at conferences in the U.S., Canada, UK, Spain and Finland. Recently, she was accepted as a researcher in residency by the Saudi Ministry of Culture to engage in her research with the Al-Balad historical area in Jiddah, Saudi Arabia which is classified as a UNESCO world heritage site. Shuqair is interested in educating the public about the importance of art, culture and critical appreciation. She has conducted workshops that combine both theoretical and practical experiences in the fields of art and culture, in collaboration with Misk Art institute (Masaha), Accenture and King Saud University.
