Edwin is a world-renowned conductor, curator, and producer, highly regarded for his ability to create truly unique concert experiences, merge and move-between genres, and innovate musically. 

 

Originally from Santa Monica California, with degrees from Harvard (English Literature) and University of California (Conducting), Outwater has worked with internationally renowned orchestras including the Tokyo Metropolitan Orchestra, the Brussels Philharmonic, and many more, as well as celebrated musicians including Metallica, Renee Fleming, and Yo-Yo Ma.  
Outwater is currently the Music Director for the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, as well Music Director Laureate for the Kitchener – Waterloo Symphony, leading them from 2007 – 2017. 

 

Recently he has conducted for the New York Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, San Diego Symphony, Seattle Symphony, and New World Symphony. He also recently worked with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in a multi-concert series to open the Steinmetz Hall in Florida.
