The Children's Book Fair in its sixth edition, which will be held at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), aims to encourage a love of reading among children in a cultural environment that enhances the presence of books in society, by hosting distinguished publishing houses specializing in children and adolescents. The fair targets children aged 4-14 years. The fair also features an invited guest country of honor and is accompanied by a series of programs and specialized activities suitable for children, in addition to a package of programs and meetings that include a selection of specialists in children's literature.


The Syrian Arab Republic is the Guest of Honor at the Children’s Book Fair.

What makes this book fair unique?

The book fair is distinguished by its careful selection of children’s books and all that relates to their learning and development, with books available in both Arabic and English.

Why is the book fair only for children?

Children are very important to the library and make up a large portion of its visitors. The book fair gives both parents and children an opportunity to come together and create a healthy environment that encourages to choose enriching books that will enhance their love for reading and desire for knowledge.  

Will the book fair be held annually?

Yes, it will be held annually.

What are the criteria for choosing publishing houses?

The publishing houses were selected according to the criteria of King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), which were also used in selecting the books.  We will also expand opportunities for publishing houses according to the criteria listed on the registration page.

How many publishing houses are participating in the book fair?

This book fair will feature 20 publishing houses from Saudi, the GCC, the Arab World, in addition to a guest country. 
 

Will the books exhibited be available in the Ithra Library as well?

Book titles available will vary according to the criteria used by the Children’s Book Fair and the library

What kind of books are available at the Children’s Book Fair?

The featured book titles are new and carefully selected. There will also be a book exchange station to allow children to swap books they have finished reading. 

Are library’s books also available for sale?

The books available for sale are the ones listed in the Children’s Book Fair, while the library’s books are available for borrowing by Ithra Membership card holders.

Will a discount be available for Ithra Members?

The books shown at the book fair will be available at the same price for all visitors.

Does entering the book fair require purchasing a ticket?

No, a ticket is not required to enter the book fair, and it is open to all according to the capacity of the Center. If you wish to make a purchase, please visit the stations of the participating publishing houses.
