Course brief description:

Throughout this interesting and exciting course, the facilitator aims to cover the fundamentals of developing characters in fiction and writing dialogues. During three days with four-hour sessions, aspiring writers for children and young adults will be exposed to various issues regarding the techniques and art of character building, while using various literary tools. 
The objective is for participants to grasp the main techniques for developing characters in stories, and writing their dialogue. They will undergo a multitude of writing exercises and will be exposed to a number of children’s and young adult books to look into and analyze the development of a character throughout a story. Participants will explore their importance regarding the development and writing of a strong story. 
Each participant will work on building his/her characters for the purpose of using them in a specific writing project they are developing or aim to develop.  The trainer will follow the participants’ works individually during the workshop in order to provide maximum output.

  • Mastering the main techniques for developing characters in stories and writing dialogue.
  • Building effective characters depending on the story message and target group. 
  • Creating effective dialogue in order to develop the story and convey the message.
