Folding Structures is an Idea Lab workshop that introduces participants to the use of contemporary origami in design, art, architecture, and engineering. Participants will discover the many folding techniques and their applications. Through a personal project, you will be able to apply what you learn to your own design field or area of interest. Whatever the scale: architecture, fashion, or interior design to engineering, product design, and even aerospace, the skills learned in this workshop will be applicable to each participant.

Presented in 4-hour sessions over four days, Folding Structures combines short theoretical lectures with hands-on practical activities that, from the first day, results in the realization of 3-D prototypes of ideas and concepts. By the end of the workshop, each participant will have created and documented a range of models and prototypes, increasing in complexity with each iteration.
