Designer, researcher, and sustainable culture advocate, Maggie Jonk has lived and worked in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade. Interested in the intersections between design and artisanal practices, and through a sustainable culture approach, Maggie co-founded the design studio OE-O in Dubai and has worked in both education and industry through research, teaching, and her design practice. Holding a master’s in Fashion, Maggie continues to contribute to publications on artisanal practices and consults on community building and programming in the creative industries. Through her international workshops, she encourages participants to rediscover their connections to the material world.
