Mariam Alnoaimi

Multidisciplinary Artist and Urban Researcher

Mariam Alnoaimi is a Bahraini multidisciplinary artist and urban researcher. She obtained her Master’s in Urban Design from the University of Colorado, Denver in 2017 as a Fulbright scholar.

Her research-based practice centers on the intersection between communities and the land; bringing environmental and social realities, ecological wisdom and urban development into dialogue. Across multiple media, she explores cartography, archives, narratives and counter-narratives that shape our present. Through her projects, she creates spaces for contemplation, knowledge sharing and alternative learning.

Mariam’s work has been exhibited in numerous group exhibitions both regionally and internationally, including Sharjah Biennale 16: To Carry at Sharjah Art Foundation (2025), Between the Tides at NYUAD Art Gallery in Abu Dhabi (2024), After Rain at Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale (2024), among others. Alongside exhibitions, Mariam has led multiple workshops and participatory projects as part of Maghras at Al-Hasa for Triennale Milano (2025) and April Acts in Sharjah (2025).

Mariam is a recipient of the Al Dana Prize at the 47th Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition (2021), Residency Unlimited (2019), Al-Balad Residency (2021), Alriwaq’s Art Kitchen Residency (2023), and NYUAD Art Gallery Research Residency (2025).
