Fatima Alnemr

Fatima Alnemr is a Saudi visual artist from Al Qatif. She is known as one of the most important artistic voices in Saudi Arabia. She began her career in 1999, and since then she strongly appears as a unique face for Saudi modern and temporary art. Moreover, she has developed an innovative artistic language that combines traditional handcrafts, such as weaving palm fiber, leather, silk and mud, and the conceptual vision of contemporary art. This unique combination makes her work a live bridge between memory and identity, and between women narratives and society changes.
Alnemr has contributed to the most important international exhibitions and museums, most recently the Art Basel Miami in 2023, Art Cairo in 2020, and many more. Her art pieces are presented in museums and organizations in Saudi Arabia and abroad, including: Louse Museum Mumbai, Holland Museum for Modern Art, Jordanian National Museum, British Museum, and many more around the world. Furthermore, she participated in international auctions such as Sotheby's international auction. Alnemr’s artworks have become great ambassadors that represent the Saudi modern visual arts internationally. She has been awarded with many prizes including the first awards in Saudi modern art exhibition in 2010, second Youth competition award in 2010, and calligraphy award in 2011.
