Every journey is more than just getting from one place to another. It is shaped by the places we go to, the people we meet, and the cultural context that defines the experience. The systems surrounding travel can express identity as well as strengthen a sense of place.
As new forms of mobility emerge, their visual languages are often shaped by global conventions. What appears universal or neutral may be designed by different people with different needs.
In Saudi Arabia, electric mobility has become part of a modern ecosystem that includes national brands, manufacturing, charging infrastructure, and ownership services. Yet adoption involves more than vehicles and technology; it introduces new behaviors, decisions, and ways of navigating everyday journeys.
The Visual Communication Challenge invites participants to identify a gap in communication with the emerging electric-mobility journey and develop a digital campaign that addresses a single, specific stage of the journey, to make it clearer, easier to understand, more trustworthy, or culturally relevant.
Over six days, participants will engage with visual communication as a tool for shaping meaning, behavior, and belonging. Moving beyond surface-level cultural references, they will investigate the behaviors, values, and relationships to travel, hospitality, and energy that shape how people experience movement. The goal is not to depict cultural legacy, but to draw inspiration from it and evolve it for the future.
