Course Brief Description:
The signage and wayfinding design course delves into the theory and practice of creating effective signage and wayfinding systems. It explores methodology, development phases, types of signs, spatial positioning, and strategies for conveying information clearly and efficiently.
Additionally, the course covers the history of signage design and includes analysis of case studies from airports, world expos, stadiums, universities, and urban spaces. Participants will engage in a practical assignment to conceptualize and design the foundation of a signage project, combining strategic thinking with creative execution while applying the best practices of signage design today.
By the end of this creative course, participants will have designed a mini signage project focused on concept and visual design, based on the techniques and skills they developed throughout the course. These skills will include visual design, concept development, typography, pictograms, symbols, grids, and color theory.
