Open until 11:30 pm
This second-level creative course on jewelry making fundamentals will help students develop new skills in both making and design. It is designed for those who have previously taken the Introduction to Jewelry Making course or have experience in jewelry making or jewelry design.
In this advanced course, connections will be the focus—centering on the many types and uses of rivets. These techniques are referred to as 'cold connections' since they do not require a torch. Rivets have been used for centuries in various materials, including metal, plastics, wood and even heavy paper, to connect pieces of a design.
During this hands-on course, participants will individually go through the process of making design sketches for their pieces before selecting a final outline. By the end of the course, each participant will create a matching set of earrings and a pendant using the acquired skills from this creative course.
Individuals interested in jewelry making, jewelry design, artisan crafts, handmade metalwork, metalsmithing or working as jewelers.
