Daily Program Schedule
• Saturday| Orientation Day:
On this day parents can complete the registration forms and collect the participants’ camp kits. In addition, this is a chance for your child to familiarize themselves with the camp’s environment, learning spaces, facilitators and friends.
• Sunday| The Center is closed
• Monday| Animal Habitats:
Animals dig, weave, spin and build unique structures in trees, on land, underground and in the sea. On this day, children explore the concept of homes, different kinds of animal habitats, and how animals engineer the best homes for themselves according to their direct environments, characteristics and needs.
• Tuesday| The Busy Tree:
Birds building nests, ants scurrying across a trunk, a spider spinning a web, and leaves “breathing out air for all to breathe in” – children take a closer look at everything that adds up to a busy oak tree, and experience weaving webs just like spiders.
• Wednesday| Underground:
On this day, campers dig deeper to discover animal homes underground. Through exploration, children investigate why animals may need to live underground as well as the process of creating a home in the ground. Campers will also get the opportunity for a live animal experience and seeing for themselves how they live.
• Thursday| Are you an Ant?
We cannot talk about underground homes without mentioning ant colonies. Campers will enjoy a fun experience where they operate ant colonies made up of several chambers. They will also enjoy watching a movie and explore how ants work together to survive.
• Monday| On Land:
Some animals don’t dig, burrow or build nests. They live on land but where? Campers will explore the answer to this question, through exploring the different habitats of various animals and reading exciting books.
• Tuesday| In the Sky:
Birds are lovely creatures that wander the skies and then land in the special homes they build. Birds’ homes are called nests. We will get to see some bird nests, and we could even build nests of our own, maybe!
• Wednesday| In the Sea:
The deep blue of wonders is a whole different world. Campers will learn that the bottom of the sea is also filled with creativity! Children take a closer look at underwater creatures and how they build their marvelous homes. Through art, children will take inspiration from marine animals to create their own beautiful designs.
• Thursday| The Last Day (Family Experience):
Join us with your child for the final 45 minutes on the last day of the camp for a fun-filled family time to get a taste of what the children experienced during camp!
