Obaid Alnofeay
Obaid Alnofeay is a Saudi calligrapher and painter born in Riyadh in 1985. He works as an Arabic calligraphy instructor and consulted expert. He obtained the Ijazah—the highest certification for calligraphers—from master calligrapher Nasser AlMaymon in 2013.
Over the years, he has achieved numerous local and international milestones, winning multiple national awards and participating in global events that took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
He has made significant contributions in the education of Thuluth and Naskh scripts, offering numerous training courses. Alnofeay has also served as an Arabic calligraphy art consultant and artistic evaluator for the King Abdulaziz Public Library’s Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition and its calligraphy competition, as well as giving workshops and training programs held in the 2020 exhibition and the 2023 Arabic Poetry Exhibition, where he also participated.
His involvement continues with the Mushaf Writing Forum, wherein he transcribed the Qur’an’s 18th Juz’ in Naskh script as part of an initiative organized by the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran.
Most recently, in 2024, Alnofeay won first place in the Arabic Calligraphy Competition organized by the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Center (Dar Al-Qalam) at the national level.

• Arabic Poetry Academy Award – Affiliated with Taif University (2020)
• First place in Atliq Al-Fannan competition, broadcast on Al-Majd TV (2011 )
• Third place (shared award) in the Souq Okaz Arabic Calligraphy Competition, becoming the first Saudi to win this prize (2013 )
• Third place in the Heritage Calligraphy Competition, Thuluth script category (2018)
• First place in the King Khalid University Calligraphy Competition, Naskh script category ( 2019)
