Ayman Yossri Dydban

Artist

Ayman Yossri Daydban (b. 1966) is a prominent Saudi-Palestinian artist whose multidisciplinary practice critically examines national narratives and identity. His last name, Daydban, means “watchman” or “guard” in Arabic—a role he adopts in his reflective exploration of cultural belonging, integration, and the entangled influences of East and West.

Through painting, photography, and printmaking, Daydban addresses issues of alienation, memory, and translation, often blending cinematic imagery with text. His work focuses on the fragile intersections between language, culture, and self-perception.

He has exhibited in major international platforms, including the Diriyah Contemporary Biennale (2021), Cairo Biennale (2019), Epicenter X at the National Museum of American Art (2017), and solo exhibitions at ATHR Gallery, Jiddah. His work is held in significant collections such as the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, Centre Pompidou, and the British Museum.
