This interactive course offers a comprehensive introduction and explanation for participating short story writers and novelists on the methods of drawing inspiration from folklore and folk heritage. It covers the construction of spatial settings, their utilization within the novel and how to artistically leverage the potential of folk heritage as a means to add authenticity to writing, enhance identity and make the writer portray their environment and culture. This interactive course will enable the supervisor to assist participants in completing their novel projects throughout the duration of the course and producing an integrated and successful narrative project.

  • Recognizing the importance of drawing inspiration from a place and the impact of folklore within the narrative text
  • Mastering the methods for employing places and folklore in writing
  • Graduating a core group of writers interested in realistic writing that recognizes the influence of place and its local heritage
