This is an intensive training course based on the Professional Writer model. Moreover, we seek to create a new and unique model in teaching novel writing. This course is designed for novelists, both beginners and those with experience, who are interested in learning the basics and methods of novel writing, developing their skills and who aspire to publish their first works.
Throughout this intensive course, participants will present their own narrative experiences through written novel proposals. They will work on developing and writing these proposals professionally under the supervision of experts and specialized novelists over eight continuous days.
This course is distinguished by the number of experts and specialists involved to discuss the elements of novel writing. Moreover, it also hosts a group of novelists, critics and publishers who will share their experiences and expertise with the participants. Participants in this course will have the opportunity to share their work with these guests and receive feedback, which can be used to develop their writing skills and increase the depth of their work. Additionally, participants will be provided with new and exclusive scientific research material prepared by a specialized research team. Nevertheless, this vital "bootcamp" focuses on supporting narrative talents to prepare them competently to upgrade their skills first, and to support and enrich the literary scene second.

Activities:

The program relies primarily on constructive dialogue between participants and the exchange of experiences and expertise, in the presence of experts and specialists through several activities, including:

  • Mental Triggers: In the form of a text, painting or audiovisual clip
  • Practical Exercises: Diverse individual and collective exercises
  • Discussion of Novel Proposals: Specific to each participant separately to enrich their individual experience in harmony with their talent

Topics to be Discussed:

The course will discuss the central idea presented in the novel. The narrator and the novelist harmonize and unite with the story, create character building that fits the novel's concept and events and write dialogue that is appropriate to the nature of the story. It also covers language suitable for the characters while considering the target audience, how to choose the appropriate time and place, effective narrative construction to reach the plot in an exciting and spontaneous way, and finally, description and storytelling.

Program Objectives:

  • Learning novel writing skills and techniques professionally through intensive lectures, stimulating discussions and brainstorming.
  • Training participants on how to summon different ideas for their works from the "wreckage of reality" and the simple details of daily life.
  • Liberating the minds of future narrators from rigid and repetitive templates through prominent examples from the history of the novel.
  • Highlighting and enhancing the strengths of each participant while identifying and refining their weaknesses.
  • Creating a rich and integrated writing community that exchanges experiences in a professional, vital and creative atmosphere.

Program Outcomes:

By the end of this course, each participant will complete one or more chapters of a new novel that expresses their idea after it has matured, carrying the characteristics of their narrative style with a strong, smooth and integrated structure. This will be under the guidance of the session presenter, who will work with each participant to develop their novel idea professionally and provide advice to enhance their writing process.

Target Group:

Novelists, those with previous narrative experiences and beginners interested in learning the basics and methods of novel writing, and those wishing to publish their first novel.
