Daniah AlSaleh
Ithra Art Prize Winner - 2nd Edition
Daniah Alsaleh (b. 1970, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) is a Saudi artist whose practice investigates memory, cultural conditioning, and the systems through which ideas are absorbed and transmitted. Her work questions everyday behaviors and assumptions, deconstructing dominant narratives to offer alternative perspectives. Through a combination of digital media, computation, and physical materials, she examines cultural tropes, connectivity, and fragmentation in contemporary life. Beneath its visual appeal, her work reveals deeper commentary on human fragility and vulnerability.
Alsaleh holds an MFA in Computational Art (with Distinction) from Goldsmiths, University of London (2020), and a degree in Computer Applications from King Saud University (1993). She was awarded the Ithra Art Prize in 2019 and has participated in numerous residencies, including at the Delfina Foundation, Goethe-Institut, and Berlin Art Institute.
