Based on a short story by Hideo Furukawa, it follows a man searching for the shortest thing in Tokyo, only to discover it is a single syllable spoken by a dying man. The film explores themes of time and language through a visually innovative style. It was screened at the Directors' Fortnight at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.

Ken Ochiai

Ken Ochiai is a Japanese director, screenwriter, and producer, born on May 31, 1983. He earned a bachelor's degree in film production from the University of Southern California (USC) and a master's degree in directing from the American Film Institute (AFI). His notable works include The Tiger Mask (2013), Uzumasa Limelight (2014), and Ninja the Monster (2016). He has received several awards, including the Special Jury Prize from the Directors Guild of America (DGA) for his film Half Kenneth.
