Shannon Borg

Shannon Borg is a writer, oil painter, and founder of Shannon Borg Art & Business Coaching, where she helps artists and other creative entrepreneurs master their business and transform their mindset so they can confidently share their gifts with the world and create sustainable businesses. She was the marketing coordinator of the San Juan Islands Visitors Bureau for six years, where she lead workshops for local business owners. Most recently, she was the executive director of Leadership San Juan Islands, a regional leadership program for community leaders for two years.

By October 2022, Ms. Borg received a certification from The Life Coach School, enhancing her coaching practice. She offers one-on-one coaching and online classes, including the Artist’s Media Kit MasterClass, Build Your Art Website, Evolve Your Creative Process, and Mission, Vision & Values for Artists.

Working in publishing for many years as a writer and editor, Ms. Borg has written about travel, food, wine, and the arts for Seattle Weekly, Seattle magazine, Northwest Palate, Wine Press Northwest, and other publications. She has published three books: Corset, a book of poems; Chefs on the Farm: Recipes & Inspiration from the Quillisascut Farm School of the Domestic Arts, and The Green Vine: A Guide to West Coast Organic, Biodynamic and Sustainable Wines.

Ms. Borg has a PhD in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Houston, and an MFA in Creative Writing/Poetry from the University of Washington. She has taught at the University of Houston, the Art Institute of Seattle, and Spokane Community College. 

Returning to a lifelong passion of visual art, Ms. Borg studied oil painting at the Trowbridge Atelier at Gage Academy of Arts in Seattle from 2018 to 2020. She has had two solo exhibitions at the Friday Harbor Atelier on San Juan Island, Washington State, as well being a part of many group exhibitions. She is represented by Museo Gallery of Whidbey Island, Washington.
