Samya Ayish is a freelance journalist and certified trainer in digital media and newsroom innovation. With a passion for media and proficiency in training and innovation, Samya focuses her training courses on digital storytelling across various platforms, public speaking, and the management of cultural and artistic activities. She also specializes in developing internal communication strategies for organizations and public engagement through understanding, addressing, and identifying audience needs.
Previously, she held the position of the first Teaching Fellow for the Google News Initiative in the Middle East and North Africa between 2019 and 2021.
Samya also previously worked as an editor and producer at CNN Arabia for 15 years, during which she focused on everything related to independent Arab cinema. Moreover, she was involved in producing and presenting the program "Poster," in addition to the "Seen Cinema" podcast, which highlights young Arab cinematic talent. Furthermore, Samya is an inspiring children’s author, with an interest in training the youth in the fundamentals of storytelling, media literacy, and the analysis of media messages across various social platforms.
Samya currently presents the program "Al-Laqta" (The Shot) with the South Studio platform. She also moderates a series of discussions, seminars, and dialogues at various film festivals, cultural events, and book fairs to enrich and develop the cultural field.
