Emy Kat (Mohamed Alkhatib) was born Jiddah in 1959. He was introduced to photography by his father Kanaan Alkhatib at the age of 12, and later studied at the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. He also participated in the first and fifth editions of 21,39 Jeddah Arts – Moallaqat (2014) and Refusing to be Still (2018).
