Dr. Fernando Sarce Thomann is a Chilean architect, researcher, and innovation leader with over 15 years of international experience in climate-responsive design, building physics, and healthy indoor environments. He holds an MSc in Renewable Energy and Architecture and a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering & Materials Design from the University of Nottingham (UK). His career spans academic leadership and technological innovation across Saudi Arabia, the UK, and Chile, including roles as Head of Architecture Departments in Saudi Arabia and Chile, and research appointments at University College London (UCL) and the University of Nottingham. As the Founder and CEO of AERATHINK, a deep-tech company, he develops IoT-enabled technologies to create healthier, more resilient, and energy-efficient buildings. Dr. Sarce bridges scientific research and digital innovation to address complex challenges in the built environment. He brings a unique combination of academic excellence and entrepreneurial expertise to the Global Impact Challenge (GIC) 2026.
