Cyril Zammit
Born in Paris, Cyril Zammit is a Dubai-based artist who began his career at the Institut Français in Prague during 1991. Following his studies, Zammit relocated to London to work in the Cultural department of the French Embassy. By 1998, he had impressively taken over the international sponsorship for Montreux Jazz Festival, after which he hosted the launch of the UBs Verbier Festival Youth Orchestra. Furthermore, he was also the head of the sponsorship of Art Basel and Art Basel Miami Beach, both of which are under the UBS International Sponsorship Committee.
In 2005, Cyril joined HSBC Private Bank (Suisse), as Marketing & Communications Senior Manager, where he signed and managed the sponsorship of Design Miami until June 2009. Later that year, in September, he joined the cultural department of Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), Abu Dhabi, as Senior Sponsorship & Funding Manager.
By 2011, with his dedication and hard work, he created the first fair focused entirely on collectible and limited edition design in the Middle East and South Asia, which launched as Design Days Dubai in March 2012. Additionally, he also created the Extraordinary Dubai Design Week in October 2015.
Furthermore, between 2017 and 2019, he worked for the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority as the Expert for the Vice Chairman Board of Directors Office and the International Relations Office. Finally, from February 2020, he joined the Office of Public and Cultural Diplomacy at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as expert for Cultural Affairs on a two-year mission.
Cyril Zammit has established himself as independent design advisor and consultant for several clients ever since February 2017. His clients are from all over the world, including the Middle East and beyond, such as Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, the UAE and Uzbekistan.
