Arne Hendriks is an artist, artistic researcher, and art historian (University of Amsterdam) with an interest in radical ecology, degrowth, and the future of the human species. His artistic research explores the borders of specific cultural values that define our relationship with the planet and how to redefine such values within art, business, and society. Hendriks combines earnest declarations with wry humor and scientific fact with artistic and speculative explorations about what could or should happen. He was named as one of the 50 future thinkers by ICON Magazine and was presented with the Dutch Design Award for his ongoing speculative research, The Incredible Shrinking Man, which investigates downsizing the human species to fit the earth better. His recent collaborations include Rabobank, Wageningen University & Research, and the Hubrecht Institute of Developmental Biology and Stem Cell Research.
