Abdulrahman Alsulaiman

The artist Abdulrahman Ibrahim Al-Sulaiman was born in Al-Hasa in 1954 and currently lives in Dammam. He began his artistic career in 1971 and also worked as an editor of the fine arts section for the Al-Yaum newspaper in 1983. He has written and in many publications , most notably Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, Alhayar, Albayan (UAE), and Zaman, and in many magazines such as Al-Faisal Life of fine Arts (Syria) and Independent Arabia. In 2000, he published a book titled “The Journey of the Saudi Fine Arts Movement,” which is considered the first book on Saudi fine arts. He has many published books on arts in the Kingdom, in addition to his autobiography “Abdulrahman Al-Sulaiman: The Color of Space and the Scent of Memory.” He was head of the Department of Fine Arts at the Society of Culture and Arts in Dammam from 1987 to 2000 where he served since 1979 as Head of the Department of Fine Arts, Head of the Media Department, and Director of Activities. He was elected to be the first president of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Society for Fine Arts from 2007-2012.
