This workshop gives children a fun and hands-on way to explore the beauty of architectural decorations in Diriyah during the early days of the Saudi state. Children will first learn about key elements of Najdi decoration, like al-Haqaf and al-Zaraniq, and how these were used to decorate and protect buildings. Then, they will work with clay to create models inspired by Diriyah’s architecture, using molds and simple carving tools. At the end, each child will make a decorative piece that reflects the traditional style of Saudi architecture.
