This course offers the foundations and rules of literary editing for narrative texts in terms of: style, language, content and structure. It also presents practical application methods on well-known fictional texts and drafts pending publication, exploring ways to develop them and preparing them for publishing so they meet technical and aesthetic standards in a clear, systematic manner. It targets the passion of short story writers and novelists, editors, those interested in criticism, content creators, members of award evaluation committees and specialized readers, enabling them to professionally edit an integrated fictional text of an advanced level.
Course Objectives:
- Mastering the foundations of literary editing, its rules and its various techniques with high proficiency
- Identifying weaknesses in literary texts and narrative structures professionally
- Graduating a proficient group of trainees capable of practicing literary editing for fictional drafts in a professional manner
Course Outcomes:
- Enabling participants to edit their fictional projects before submitting them to publishing houses
- Identifying the points of weakness in all elements of narrative structure by defining ten clear paths the editor must follow during the editing process to ensure the strength and integration of the fictional structure

Alaa Farghali
Alaa Farghali is a novelist, literary editor and lecturer in creative writing. He serves as a publishing consultant for prestigious Arab publishing houses. He is also a juror for well-known literary awards, a recipient of Arab novel awards and holds a postgraduate diploma in Comparative Literature from Cairo University.
