Memory Trace

A contemporary art workshop that begins with the question: “Is memory ever complete?” to explore the idea that a memory can be deconstructed and rebuilt. Participants work on reshaping a mental image they have and rebuild it using techniques such as weaving, collage, and threadwork. Lost or missing details, gaps, and layers become an essential part of the artwork.

The workshop treats the image as an unstable memory: parts of it are concealed while others are revealed, producing a visual piece that carries the mark of time, touch, and re-imagination, symbolizing how a mental image is transformed into a material that can be rebuilt and reshaped.

Also included is a tour inside the exhibition Echoes of the Familiar — in the exhibition, we will examine the artwork and connect them with the workshop’s theme.
