The events of the film are inspired by a true story that took place a decade ago at Al Yamamah University in Riyadh, where a group of young Saudi art enthusiasts decided to create a cultural week. Among the agenda was a play they titled "Wasati Without Moderation." During the play, some members of the audience began shouting "music is forbidden" and demanded that the performance be stopped. Moments later, their attacks began.
