Inflatable Art and Architecture

Inflatable Art and Architecture is an Idea Lab workshop that introduces participants to the fundamentals of using air and inflatable objects as an artistic and architectural medium. Through a combination of a hands-on process of form-study, prototyping and experimentation, combined with short theoretical presentations, you will be able to apply what you learn to a final, large-scale, air-supported installation. Participants are encouraged to work together in small groups. Whether you are an artist, a designer, architect, engineer or student: the skills you develop during this workshop will be applicable to your specific field of interest. An optional follow-up workshop will provide you with the opportunity to explore air-inflated and air-actuated structures.
