Abdulrahman Al-Sulaiman

Saudi artist Al-Sulaiman was born in Al-Hasa in 1954 and currently lives in Dammam. He began his artistic career in 1971 and also worked as an editor of the fine arts section for the Al-Yaum newspaper in 1983. He has written for many publications, most notably: Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, Alhayar, Albayan (UAE), Zaman, and in magazines such as Al-Faisal Life of fine Arts (Syria) and Independent Arabia. In 2000, he published a book titled “The Journey of the Saudi Fine Arts Movement,” which is considered the first book of its kind. He has many published books on arts in the Kingdom, in addition to his autobiography “Abdulrahman Al-Sulaiman: The Color of Space and the Scent of Memory.” He served as Head of the Fine Arts from 1979, as well as Head of Media, and Director of Events, and then Head of Fine Arts at the Society of Culture and Arts in Dammam from 1987 to 2000. He was elected as the first president of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Society for Fine Arts from 2007-2012.
