Making a Vietnamese Hat

As cultures of the world have unique forms of dressing, Vietnamese people share a common type of hat with other Asian nations, the Asian conical hat, or better known as the rice hat. It is primarily used as protection from the sun and rain. When it is uniquely made of straw or matting, it can be dipped in water and worn as an impromptu evaporative-cooling device.
