84 Historic Artifacts Coming to Ithra
Saudi Aramco, represented by the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), and the Supreme Council of Antiquities of the Arab Republic of Egypt, have signed an agreement paving the way for joint cooperation between the two entities on an exhibition focusing on mosques. The agreement and the exhibition focus on social, aesthetic, and cultural aspects of mosques as a crucial art form in Islamic architecture and building techniques. The agreement includes a two-year loan of 84 artifacts from Cairo's Museum of Islamic Art collection. The pieces will be part of the Shatr AlMasjid exhibition organized by Ithra, scheduled to take place soon, as the first exhibition of its kind in the region in terms of subject matter, presentation and artifact diversity.
