Al Khobar Al Shamalia is historically one of the most important districts in Al Khobar City. Loved by generations who were born, raised, shopped, and walked its streets. It has become an important part of the local identity of Al Khobar. It has recently been a focus of regeneration investment. In this challenge, the participants will be introduced to the area, and explore its crisscrossing streets. They will see the character of the old and the extent of the new development. By hearing from industry professionals, and listening to the residents and visitors, the participants will gain insight into the district’s character. The challenge is to create a new visual identity for the district, its signage, entrance ways, key landmarks, and wayfinding elements. They need to balance the old with the new, and celebrated this much-loved place.
