Younès Rahmoun is a Moroccan artist who lives and works in the medieval city of Tetouan, where he studied at the city's prestigious National Institute of Fine Arts. Widely considered one of the most important contemporary artists working in North Africa today, Rahmoun strives to marry his artistic practice with his religious and spiritual beliefs by exploring themes that relate to Islamic culture and spirituality. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, including Istanbul Modern, MACBA in Barcelona, Palais de Tokyo in Paris, Musée d’Art Moderne Arabe in Doha and MuHKA in Antwerp.
