Ithra Unveils 29 programs During I’d Al Adha

Dhahran, The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) announces it will host 29 programs under “Journeys” theme. The Program will last for four days, from August 22 to August 25. The “Journeys” will take visitors through all the activities offered in Plaza, Theater, Cinema, Museum…etc. in order to inspire hearts and engage minds.

The “Oud Poet” Driss Maloumi preforms for the first time in Saudi Arabia. Maloumi, UNESCO Award- winning, will perform for three evenings on August 23, 24 and 25, 2018 at Ithra Theater. The performance will allow audience to experience listening to a unique blend of Arab and Western cultures.

As part of “Journeys” programs, workshops, events, live performances consisting of art, literature and science will be offered in the plaza, including: The Piano Journey-Mcadam Piano, a 30-minute performance by Mozart, Django, Scubert rolling his piano around the center. Also, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy watching and interacting the works of art in Live Calligraffiti by a local artist.

At the Energy Exhibit screening and workshops will take visitors on a journey through the beginnings of petroleum and rock formations underground, all the way to alternative energy solutions of the Kingdom, such as Walking Dinosaurs an ultimate journey through the prehistoric age. Audience will truly experience the thrill of what it was like when dinosaurs ruled the Earth through an immersive 20-minute 3D film.

The Cinema, Library, Children Museum, and Museum will also take part in taking the visitors on a journey. Movies will be screening like A Journey to Mecca in the Cinema, interactive games and storytelling experiences like Ibn Battuta will be offered at the Library, workshops allowing children to use their creativity will be offered at the Children Museum like Autism Friendly Space Workshop and at the Museum will take the visitors on a Time Travel Tour.
