The work of renowned late Norwegian artist Edvard Munch makes its way to Ithra’s Great Hall. Discover the abstract in Munch’s “Landscapes of the Soul” exhibition, an introduction to the artist’s work and an expression of the inner self.

The exhibition will explore Munch’s work displayed across five pavilions, covering an emotional artistic expression of: melancholy, love, despair, loneliness and portraits of the soul.

With a career spanning over 60 years, Edvard Munch was one of Modernism's most significant artists. Active in the Symbolist movement of the 1890s, a pioneer of Expressionist art from the beginning of the 1900s, Munch has left his impact in the history of the art world. An international art icon, his tenacious experimentation within painting, graphic art, drawing, sculpture, photo and film saw his work transcend boundaries into popular culture.
“Landscapes of the Soul” is organized in partnership with Norway’s Munch Museum, Aker ASA and the design firm Snøhetta. This is the exhibition’s first time in the Middle East, exhibited exclusively at Ithra until September.
