From Earth is an art exhibition that focuses on the Saudi artist's relationship with the natural heritage and landscape of Saudi Arabia and its great impact on the artist’s form of expression.
It is a platform for Saudi artists to participate with artworks that reflect their connection with this generous land. From Earth aims to depict a wide range of experiences to echo the tangible and intangible aspects of the relationship, and showcase the artists’ interactions with the environment through original artworks.
Participation is open to all artists who are Saudi nationals, provided that they are at least 16 years old.
Participants have the freedom to choose the appropriate materials and tools to present their work, namely: multimedia, painting, installation, sculpture, photography and calligraphy.
The artwork must be original, creative and never before shown in other competitions or exhibitions. It must not be copied or adapted from other works, and the materials used should include at least one element from the natural heritage of the Kingdom.
The artwork shall not be part of another series of existing artworks.
The artwork should follow the theme of the exhibition in a modern and distinctive way.
The artwork must be permanent in nature, and must not be highly dependent on technology.
The artwork should be able to be safely packed, shipped and transported for installation at Ithra.
Artworks must be exhibition-ready and durable enough to stand shipping, framing, installation, etc.
All artworks will be evaluated by an expert screening committee.
Approved artworks must be completed within a month and a half from the date of the committee's approval
